White Wolf's Crafts
Welcome to All

O'siyo, welcome to my web site. My name is Newton Hyde,
of the Santee Indian Nation. Roll number 19950056.
I am a 46 year old male who is also of the Cherokee descent.
I got interested in beadwork back in the 70's, and I am still very
much intrigued with it to this very day. I have taken many paths
since the 70's mostly in retail sales, some factory work,
and my last adventure was a carpenter. When in '94 a work related
accident left me disabled. While in therapy I started stringing beads.
Being very in my Native American heritage, I started reading all
I could about the culture, of the Native Americans.
Not just of the Cherokee but of all the people.
I went to pow-wows, festivals, and craft shows talking
with each vender, asking questions, learning all that I could.
Then 5 years ago I had made so much beadwork that it was getting
out of hand. Then I decided to try and sell some to recover
my bead cost. I got to the point that I was doing very well
at this beading and crafting. I will never get rich,
but I have more peace of mind and body than ever before.
As you look upon the pictures ahead in my web site, all items
are handmade by me, unless otherwise noted. I will and do give
credit on any patterns that I use. I do have items listed in this
site that are not made by me. They will be also noted and
those good people will be credited for their find workmanship.
I must add this, the pictures do not do the item justice.
On the following pictures I will just make a note of either Dan or Lee.
Also make note that some items are purchased, I will tell you under
the pics. All other items unless otherwise noted are made by me.
So sit back and enjoy and visit often as new items will be
added as others are sold. One other note my digital camera work
is not the best so if you would like a picture of a certain item
just e-mail me and let me know I will be more than happy to send
it to you. I will introduce those good folks now.
First off is Dan White, (Man Wind Spirit), my brother-in-law.
Dan has been a professional gunsmith since I have known him,
and that's been for over 25 years. Dan takes a lot of pride in
everything that he does. He has been making Native American
Flutes now for almost 5 years. All his flutes are tuned,
and sound great, and are very nice quality instruments.
If he does not like one or one does not come out right
it becomes firewood. Dan not only makes the wood flutes
but also bamboo, and rivercane flutes. And my pictures of his
fret/scroll saw work and his flutes do not do them justice.
I must also make this special note. The prices of the flutes
that I have listed in my site may vary from Dan's site.
He has experimented with different flutes since
I got these from him.
He has come a long way, check out his drone flutes.
They are very nice. I will add a link to Dan's site soon,
please visit him. Next is Lee Sellers, Lee is a medicine man
of the Santee Indian Nation of Elloree S.C. Lee has not
only been a good and dear friend, but has taught me a lot about
life and the red road. Lee resides in Pauline, SC and his beadwork is
of high quality, and looks great, I think. Lee likes to use a
lot of turquoise and silver, which is always very nice.
Lee does not at this time have a web site, sorry I can't
add his link. But I will as soon as he does get one up and running.
If you ever get the chance to be welcomed into one of his sweats,
by all means do so. Not only are they a great learning experience,
but very much spiritual. It has been a great pleasure for me to
have the chance to know him.
